General intercessions:

In faith and hope let us bring our prayers to God through the risen and ascended Christ, who is the light of the world.

We pray for the Church: that we may manifest the reign of Christ by our witness, by our deeds of loving service and through our commitment to the truth.

We pray on World Communications Day for all those who tell the story of our times through words and images on paper, online or on-air.

We pray for our brothers and sisters of the Church in China and ask that they may be given strength to witness faithfully to the Lord in their suffering.

Let us pray for all the children who are receiving Holy Communion for the first time today, that we may always answer the call of our Lord with as much joy as we do today.

We pray for our candidates receiving Confirmation next Saturday: that God will renew their minds and hearts and help them to be more like Christ.

We pray for all students as they take final examination: that they may recall all they have learned and that God will help them clearly express it.

Almighty and Everlasting Father, we celebrate the glorious ascension of your son Jesus Christ; may our hopes be rooted in faith, give us the constant assurance of your presence and hear the prayers that we make through the same Christ our Lord. Amen
