Priest Training Fund
Next Sunday is Good Shepherd Sunday, the day we pray for priests and for vocations to the priesthood and take up the collection for the Priest Training Fund which pays for the priestly formation of men for the Catholic priesthood and also supports the ongoing enrichment and formation of our ordained priests. Of 58 men studying at Allen Hall seminary, 17 are from our own Diocese and two men from our Diocese are studying in Rome. Last year four men were ordained to serve as our future priests. Your generous donation helps ensure we can support these men who are called to be like Christ the Good Shepherd. Donation envelopes are available in the back of the church. Please take one home, read the information, and bring it back next weekend with your donation and please continue to pray for vocations and for our priests.
You can use the QR code to make your donation online or visit www.rcdow.org.uk/donations. Thank you for your generosity.
Urgent appeal for drivers
Our Soup Run teams urgently need more driver distributors who can help out about once a month on a Saturday at 6pm for 3 hours. We are still working on a flexible basis as Covid and other volunteer commitments mean a regular rota is currently unworkable. Please contact Kit for more info by email or call 07507 138582. Thank you.
Winnie Elkins – 100th Birthday
Winnie Elkins, a former parishioner, will be celebrating her 100th birthday on 27th May. She lived for many years in the parish along with her sister, Margaret. Her association with the parish went back even before Winnie was born as her grandfather was one of the six men who were instrumental in the building of St. Peter-in-Chains church in the late 1800’s. Winnie was the first leader of 3rd Crouch End Brownies, formerly known as St. Peter-in-Chain Brownies, having started the unit in 1953. Until recently she had lived independently but, unfortunately, suffered a fall which has resulted in her going to live in a home. For those who knew Winnie and would like to send her a greeting, you can drop a card in to the presbytery which we will forward. Winnie’s niece Teresa is happy to answer any enquiries about her aunt. Congratulations and blessings to Winne.
Based on our Gospel this Sunday, Trusting in Jesus is the theme in the Family Room this weekend.
Congratulations to the children being Baptised and those receiving First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion this weekend.

In this way, it has been written by our parishioners young and old, our priests and deacons and religious, our school and university students, and our committed faithful. The story is theirs.’ Fr Chris Vipers, Director of the Agency for Evangelisation
