Shop early for Christmas! – help your local Food Bank

Advent is a special season when we prepare to celebrate the coming of Christ. However, for many people, Christmas can be a difficult time. Currently, 8.4 million people in the U.K. regularly do not get enough to eat. The Caritas Food Collective are a new project working to tackle food poverty in the Diocese of Westminster. This year, we have created an ‘Advent Giving Calendar’ to help use this season to think of those who might be struggling, and do our bit to help them in the run up to Christmas. The idea is, using the Calendar as a guide, to buy an item each day to donate to a local Food Bank – we suggest the Holy Trinity Food Bank. It is a great project for families with younger children at this time of year. Calendars are available at the back of church where there is also a box for donated items. The calendar can also be viewed online. Please give what you can and try to donate early so your gifts can be distributed by the Food Bank in time for Christmas. On behalf of those who will receive your gifts, Thank you!
