First Holy Communion

Over the next two weekends (12 & 19 May), 44 children from our parish will receive the sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time at 9:45am and 11:30am Mass. The First Holy Communion Mass celebrations are the culmination of more than six months preparation for the children and their families. We congratulate all the children on this special and blessed occasion, and we thank their families – parents, grandparents, siblings and godparents – for their commitment and support, both now and in the future. We also thank everyone from the St. Peter-in-Chains parish community who has been involved in preparing the children for their First Holy Communion, most especially our catechists, prayer sponsors, the parish office team, and all those who have worked to ensure that the First Holy Communion Masses are a reverent and memorable occasion.

Bishop John Sherrington will confer the sacrament of Confirmation on our candidates at the 6:30pm Mass on Saturday 25th May. Details of the rehearsal for the Mass will be published closer to the date.
