Justice and Peace Rep

What is Justice and Peace? It’s about wanting to make a difference, witnessing to gospel values in society, not only by helping those close at hand, or sending gifts overseas, but asking why problems are arising, and whether we can speak up for change. We are currently working on such things as climate protection, Fairtrade, the refugee situation, and peace in the Middle East. Justice and Peace reps can publicise our work, maintain a parish notice board, or raise awareness in the parish. Can you be your parish Justice and Peace representative? Contact the office at

Other notices

Priest Surgery – Fr Sean’s Surgery, when you next can see him without an appointment, is on Tuesday 12th February from 5pm-7pm at the Presbytery. Note: no Surgery on Tuesday 5th.

Soup Run – urgent need – Our Soup Run project has an immediate need for sandwich makers as some of our fantastic volunteers have recently ‘retired’ due to personal circumstances. 2 hours, once a month on a Saturday from 3:45pm. Friendly teams, great way to help those less fortunate than ourselves. Contact Kit Greveson on 07507 138582 or email Thank you.

Finance Committee Report – Last week’s meeting was naturally focused around the current building works. We are drawing down parish funds before calling on the diocesan loan facility to reduce interest payments. At present we have approx. £183,000 available in the bank. Though Fr Sean has queried some additional cost items that have been presented, it is likely that we will have to cut or defer some of the additional work we would like to do. This will depend to an extent on the success of fundraising and Fr Sean has begun to ask parishioners one-to-one to consider making one-off or regular financial pledges. None the less, we are likely to face difficult decisions in the years ahead.
