we offer our prayers and best wishes for a
Peaceful and Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thank you for your cards, presents and good wishes.

Reflecting on the Christmas scripture readings

If you find some time to be quiet and reflective at this busy time of year, perhaps take a look on the website at Joan Griffiths’ notes on the Christmas readings.

Christmas at St Peter’s

Christmas Services – Details of all services plus times to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation/Confession can be found online here.

Crib Appeal 2018 – The Catholic Children’s Society (Westminster) – This Christmas our Crib Offering will be donated to the Catholic Children’s Society to support their work with disadvantaged children and families. By donating at the crib or at and following the link to ‘donate’, you can capture the spirit of the season by making an offering to help the most deprived families in our Diocese. Please be generous as your support makes a real difference to children’s lives.

A Host of Angels – You will notice a host of Angels around the church, these have been provided by children from St Gildas’ & St Peter’s Schools.

A Big Thank You – to everyone who helped us prepare for Christmas in any way – cleaning, decorating the church, preparing the Crib, serving, ushering, reading, singers and musicians, Eucharistic Ministers, bankers, the counting teams. Special thanks to Irena and those who took part in the Carols for CAFOD service.

Decorating the Church for Christmas – In view of the current renovation work, regrettably it has been decided not to offer personal endowments this year. The church will still be decorated with a magnificent tree, beautiful floral arrangements and seasonal plants. If you would like to help towards the not insignificant cost (£400/£500), please put your donation in the wall box at the back of church marked ‘Church Flowers’, or in an envelope marked ‘Flowers’ and hand it in to the sacristy or the parish office. All donations, are greatly appreciated.

Building Works – Due to Building works, uneven surfaces etc. please take care entering and leaving the church. Also after Masses please move away from the doors so that all people can exit safely.
