World Mission Sunday
Pope Francis has explained to us many times that we are all Missionary Disciples reminding us that ‘the spread of the faith “by attraction” calls for hearts that are open and expanded by love. That expansion generates encounter, witness, proclamation; it generates sharing in charity with all those far from the faith. Through Missio, the Universal Church reaches out to those who have not yet heard the gospel message. In Ethiopia, our World Mission Sunday focal country this year, the Little Sisters of Jesus are supporting minority groups such as the Menja, of the Kaffa region, considered by their neighbours to be ‘untouchable’. As well as providing day-care to local Menja children, offering the chance for a hot meal and a regular bath, the Sisters encourage the local community to overcome traditional prejudices and promote contact between different peoples. We hope that you’ll be able to continue supporting World Mission Sunday and contribute to the collection being made today. God bless you all.
First Holy Communion 2019
Due to the building works taking place in the church and the lower parish rooms this year, we will be changing the class format, and will be offering classes on Saturday mornings only. We will be holding a parents’ information evening in November where we will share full details of the 2018/2019 program. Please contact Lizzie Quinn (0787 286 7203) if you have any initial questions. Enrolment forms for the 2018/2019 programme will be available next Sunday, 28th October from the Sacristy after the Sunday Masses, or from the Parish Office between 9am-3pm, Mon-Fri. Note: Candidates for the sacrament must live in the Parish or regularly attend Mass here.
Clocks go back next weekend
Remember to put your clocks back one hour next weekend on the night of the 27th/28th October.
Month of the Holy Souls

Mass of Commemoration, Friday 2nd November at 7:30pm. This Mass is celebrated for those members of the parish who died in the past year and an invitation has been sent to their families. If you have lost a member of your family (not necessarily resident in the parish) and would like them remembered at the Mass, please hand a note in to the parish office before 1st November, giving their name and, if you have one, a photo we can display (no bigger than A5 please). All names will be read out and a candle lit in their memory.

Postcards available at the back of the church on the newsletter stand. Thank you.
Parish Draw – It has been decided to postpone the monthly draw for the foreseeable future as the current works to the church exterior has made selling the tickets impractical.
