Adoremus – National Eucharistic Congress –  8th/9th September – Liverpool

Eucharistic Congresses are gatherings of clergy, religious and laity which promote an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Church. We can participate in it at home by 1) Coming together on Friday night in the Church for our weekly hour of adoration; 2) Mass and exposition on Saturday morning from 9am to 10am; 3) Visiting Adoremus website which has many resources, podcasts and prayers etc to help us pray and reflect at home and grow in our love for the Eucharist, http://www.catholicnews.org.uk/Home/Special-Events/Adoremus-National-Eucharistic-Pilgrimage; 4) Try to attend mass more regularly, reverently and joyfully. Let us pray for its success.

Next Sunday, 8th/9th September, is Education Sunday. For well over a hundred years there has been an annual recognition of Education Sunday in England and Wales. It is a national day of prayer and celebration for everyone in the world of education. The theme for 2018 is ‘Faith and Works’. Each year the theme is devised by an ecumenical steering group representing different Christian denominations and organisations under the auspices of Churches Together in England.

The Pope’s Prayer Intention

In September, we join the Holy Father in prayer for his Universal Intention, that young people in Africa may have access to education and work in their own countries.

Building Works – access to the Parish Rooms

There will be no access to the Parish Rooms via the basement area steps until further notice. Access will be through the church and the sacristy when the church is open and through the Presbytery if the church closed. Thank you for your cooperation.
