World Communications Day – Sunday 13 May

On this day, Catholics are encouraged to pray for all those professionals who work in the field of Communications. A particular intention is for those who are responsible for communicating on behalf of the Catholic Church in this country. The communications office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales supports the bishops, in their witness and engagement with current issues, and the Church more widely in promoting the Gospel through digital, social, print and broadcast media. The office is a key resource for national and international media professionals. It also plays an important role in developing the public profile of the Church through word and image. If you wish to make a donation to World Communications, please place your donation in the wall safe above the Holy water font at the back of the church or donate online at: http://www.catholicnews.org.uk/donate-wcd . Prayer cards will be available on the Newsletter stand.

St Peter-in-Chains RC Infant School – Annual Open Evening

We think our School is amazing, but come and see for yourself on Wednesday 16th May from 6pm-8pm. This is an opportunity to look around St Peter’s and see what we have to offer. There will be guided tours, teachers and governors on hand as well as delicious refreshments. We look forward seeing you on the evening.

CAFOD

Thank you for your support to the CAFOD Lent Fast Day appeal. Donations to CAFOD until 12 May will be doubled by the UK Government. We have planned a £5 million programme to combat malnutrition – and with it we hope to be able to reach 245,000 people. But we need the full amount of match funding to make it happen. You can help us reach the full amount needed for this crucial programme. We still have some way to go yet! To donate please go to cafod.org.uk/lent.
