A Big Thank You

Thank you to everyone who made our parish celebration of Holy week and Easter special. There are the people we see – Fr. Sean leading our liturgies, the Readers, Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Singers, Musicians, the people who take up the collection, bring up the offertory gifts and of course everyone who comes to celebrate with us so prayerfully. Then there are the people supporting them – Jennifer our Parish Secretary, the people who organise our ministers, those who arrange flowers, prepare, clean and decorate the church, wash linen, count and bank the collections, etc. We must give a special mention to our First Holy Communion candidates and their catechists who led the Family Stations of the Cross so well on Good Friday and who also wrote the beautiful Easter Prayers decorating the pillars at the back of church. St Peter’s is blessed with many people who give their time and service generously not only at Easter but throughout the year. We send our thanks and prayers for God’s Blessing to all of you. Fr Sean adds his thanks for your cards, generous Easter Offerings as well as your donations during Lent and on Good Friday for the collection for the Holy Places.

If you still wish to join, leave your details on the form next to the envelopes at the front of church where Standing Order and Gift Aid forms are also available. You can also email to sign up, request forms or ask any questions. If you belong to the Gift Aid scheme but no longer pay tax, please let the office know so we stop claiming for you.

Priest Training Fund

22nd April is Good Shepherd Sunday, the day we pray for priests and for vocations to the priesthood and take up the annual collection for the Priest Training Fund. This fund pays for the priestly formation of men for the Catholic priesthood. There are currently 45 students at Allen Hall seminary, 28 of whom are for our own Diocese, and last year eight were ordained to the priesthood to serve as our priests. This fund also supports the ongoing enrichment and formation of our ordained priests. Your generous donation helps ensure we can support these men who are called to be like Christ the Good Shepherd. Donation leaflets are available in the back of the church. Please take one home, read the information, and bring it back in 2 weeks with your donation. Please continue to pray for vocations and for our priests. You can donate online anytime at
