Easter 2018

Palm Sunday, 25th March – Palm Sunday, begins the greatest week in the church year. Blessing of Palms will take place before each Mass. We encourage you to participate in as many Easter ceremonies as possible.

Holy Week & Easter Services – Details are in the leaflet at the back of the church and here on the website.

Parish Reconciliation Service – Monday 26th March at 7:30pm. Details of services in other parishes are given in the leaflet.

Easter Endowments – – If you would like to make an endowment in memory of a member of your family or someone special this Easter, please fill in a form available on the newsletter stand and hand in at the parish office by Wednesday, 28th March.

Stations of the Cross Family Service Rehearsal – There will be a reading rehearsal after 11:15am Mass this Sunday, 25th, and a dress rehearsal on Wednesday, 28th March, 5:30-6:30pm in the Church, for the children who are leading the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday at 10:30am.

Eucharistic Ministers – Can ministers please fill in the sheet at the back of church with their availability to serve at the Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil services.

Help clean the church for Easter – Please come on Monday, 26th March after the 9am Mass. We URGENTLY need cleaners to help clean the church regularly on Mondays after the morning Mass, if you can spare half hour or hour.

Easter Offering – Along with Christmas Offerings and Mass Stipends, these provide the priest’s monthly Salary. If you will be away at Easter and wish to make an offering, envelopes are available at the back of the church. If you have Planned Giving envelopes please use the Easter envelope. Many thanks

Lenten Alms

You can still support the Cardinal’s Appeal Fund, CAFOD, the ‘Poor box’ and our Confirmation Group charity Toilet Twinning by placing donations in the wall safes above the Holy Water fonts at the church entrance.

Rest in Peace

The funeral Mass of Elizabeth Rodgers RIP will be held at St Joseph’s, Highgate on Tuesday, 27th March, 11am followed by burial at Lavender Hill Cemetery, Enfield, 1pm.

The funeral Mass of Peter McMorrow RIP will be held here at St Peter’s on Wednesday, 4th April at 11am followed by burial at St Pancras Cemetery, Finchley, 1pm. Please keep the families in your prayers at this time.

Running for CAFOD

Claire Kennedy, one of our Catechists, will be running 21 km on Holy Saturday to raise funds for CAFOD. Please also remember to Gift Aid your donations as the Government will meet each £1 with £1.

Planned Giving and Gift Aid – We thank the parishioners who have requested a box of envelopes or taken Standing Order or Gift Aid forms. The envelopes are ready to collect. If you still wish to join, please leave your details on the form next to the envelopes at the front of church where Standing Order and Gift Aid forms are also available. You can also email plannedgiving@stpeterinchains.com to sign up, request forms or ask any questions.

If you already use envelopes, please collect your new box as soon as possible. If you belong to the Gift Aid scheme but no longer pay tax, please let the office know so we stop claiming for you.

Thanksgiving for Matrimony – Mass in Thanksgiving for Matrimony for couples celebrating 5th / 10th / 25th / 30th / 40th / 50th / 60th and 60th+ wedding anniversaries at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday 19th May 2018, 3:00pm. If you would like to attend please contact the parish office.

Ecumenical Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham – Saturday 14th April 2018 – Tickets £30 including Transport and Evening Meal. Further information available on the notice board outside church.

ADOREMUS Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress – Liverpool 2018, 7th – 9th September 2018. Eucharistic Congresses are gatherings which promote an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Church. Participants will focus on different dimensions of the Eucharist and the daily celebration and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. On the first day there will be workshops for parish catechists, RE teachers, Hospital and Prison Chaplains, Seminary Communities and Extraordinary Ministers. The second day of the Congress, will include a Congress Mass, keynote speakers and a drama highlighting the beauty of reverence and devotion concluding with Adoration. Ticket only. The parish has been allocated 4 spaces. If anyone wishes to go please give your name to the parish office. On the final day of the Pilgrimage and Congress, Sunday, there will be pilgrimage Masses and a street procession – open to all. For more information visit the Congress website.
