This Sunday is called Gaudete Sunday which means rejoice. As we gather to celebrate the Eucharist, the Lord is very near us – indeed he is in our midst. Reason indeed to rejoice!
Crib Appeal 2017
The Catholic Children’s Society (Westminster) works with families struggling on low incomes and facing domestic crises. With your generosity we are able to ease their burden and give them real hope and faith in the future. This Christmas, millions of people in our Diocese are still desperately trying to think of ways to save money and cut back on spending. By donating at the crib or at www.cathchild.org.uk and following the link to ‘donate’, you can capture the spirit of the season by making an offering to help the most deprived families in our Diocese. Please be generous as your support makes a real difference to children’s lives.
First Holy Communion and Confirmation preparation
See the ‘Preparing for the Sacraments’ section below for information about forthcoming meetings.
Confirmation – We welcome our Confirmation Candidates who will be enrolled at today’s 11:15 Mass onto the programme to prepare them to receive the sacrament next year. Please keep the candidates, their families and sponsors in your prayers.
First Holy Communion – Preparation classes continue this weekend/Monday/Tuesday, then resume after the Christmas break. Thank you for your understanding about the postponement of the two classes and the Enrolment last Sunday. As a number of families and catechists were having difficult journeys in the snow, we decided on Sunday morning to postpone to a date when everyone will (hopefully) be able to attend. The Enrolment will now take place at the Celebration Mass already planned for all 63 children and their families to attend on Sunday, 14th January at 11.15am. Please email any questions to: email@example.com
Prayer Sponsors Please fill in your details on the list at the back of the Church by Sunday, 7th January if you are willing to be a personal Prayer Sponsor for one of our children preparing for First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion in 2018. We will contact you in January with the name of the child to remember in your daily prayers and when you attend Mass. Thank you.
