Home Mission Sunday
The Home Mission Office exists to help the Church throughout England and Wales to share the joy of the Gospel. It can seem daunting to share such a personal part of our lives as our faith in Jesus Christ. However, we could pray for people we carry in our hearts to encounter him for themselves. If you would like to pray for the spread of the Good News on a regular basis, please sign up to our newsletter via homemission.org.uk If you wish to make a donation to Home Mission, please place your donation in the wall safe above the Holy water font at the back of the church. It is also possible to donate online at catholicnews.org.uk/Home/Donate Thank you!
Missionary Sisters of England and Wales
On behalf of the Missionary Sisters working overseas I would like to thank you for your generous response to the Appeal given last week. I can assure you again that your contribution of over £1,100 to our work will be only for those in the greatest of need. Please remember us in your prayers and we too will hold your parish in our hearts and in our prayers, as partners in Mission. Sr Rose Mary Harbinson
The winning numbers for September are 1st 162, 2nd 203 & 3rd 275 – Pale Blue (AB605637).
Retreat Day for Readers and Eucharistic Ministers
‘Treasure in Clay Jars’ will take place on Saturday, 30th September from 10:00am-4:00pm at St John Vianney Church, West Green, 386 West Green Road, N15 3QL. Please bring your own lunch – coffee and tea will be provided. This retreat will run in conjunction with St John Vianney parish. For more information, contact Sr Devy on 07403784463. Details can also be found on the notice board outside the church.
Fire Marshal Training
We have been advised that, due to the limited exits from the church, we should have trained Fire Marshals who would be able to direct and assist in the unlikely event that we need to evacuate the building. Although we hope that we never need to evacuate the church, except for fire drills, we would like to have as many people trained as possible so that there should always be some available at every Sunday Mass or large celebration.
Precision Safety Services are providing Fire Marshall training free for the Deanery. This will take place at St John Vianney Church Hall on Wednesday, 27th September at 7pm. If you would like to attend please put your name down on the list provided at the back of the church ASAP or reply by email to the Parish Office. The training will last 1.5 – 2hrs.
